Prepurchase question: how to rotate old video files

Hello, I can't seem to find my answer via google.

I would like to rotate some very old phone videos that were taken vertically, but play horizontally. Further more there are some vertical video files that I would like to compress down to a more manageable size. I have an old version of Compressor that won't work with Yosemite. Will the new version handle rotated videos for me?
